If you're a beginner knitter, it's important to start with simple and easy stitches. One great option is the stockinette stitch, which is worked in the round.

  • Cast on a multiple of 4 stitches.
  • 8-round repeat.

    • Round 1:  Knit 1, purl 1, knit 1, purl 1.
    Round 2:  Knit 1, purl 1, knit 1, purl 1.
    Round 3: Purl 1, knit 3.
    Round 4: Purl 1, knit 3.
    Round 5:  Knit 1, purl 1, knit 1, purl 1.
    Round 6:  Knit 1, purl 1, knit 1, purl 1.
    Round 7: Knit 2, purl 1, knit 1.
    Round 8: Knit 2, purl 1, knit 1.
    Repeat Rounds 1-8.
